    1. Enable the Ss to learn about the city of St Petersburg.

    2. Develop the Ss’ ability of reading comprehension.

    3. Get the Ss to learn the spirit from the people of St Petersburg

    Step1.Revision

    1. (pictures show) Ask:

    What do you know about the places in the pictures?

    Do you think them great?

    Which one would you like to visit? Why?

    2.(picture show)Tell the Ss:

    This capsule is a large box. It will be sent into space by rocket. Please select four things that represent Chinese culture. Complete the following table.
