　　Saying Good-bye to Cambridge Again

　　Very quietly I take my leave

　　As quietly as I came here;

　　Quietly I wave good-bye

　　To the rosy clouds in the western sky.

　　The golden willows by the riverside

　　Are young brides in the setting sun;

　　Their reflections on the shimmering waves

　　Always linger in the depth of my heart.

　　The floating heart growing the sludge

　　Sways leisurely under the water;

　　In the gentle waves of Cambridge

　　I would be a water plant!

　　That pool under the shade of elm trees

　　Holds not water but the rainbow from the sky;

　　Shattered to pieces among the duck weeds

　　Is the sediment of a rainbow-like dream?

　　Just to pole a boat upstream

　　此詩(shī)寫于1928年11月6日，初載1928年12月10日《新月》月刊第1卷第10號(hào)，署名徐志摩。康橋，即英國(guó)著名的劍橋大學(xué)所在地。1920年10月—1922年8月，詩(shī)人曾游學(xué)于此�？禈驎r(shí)期是徐志摩一生的轉(zhuǎn)折點(diǎn)。詩(shī)人在《猛虎集·序文》中曾經(jīng)自陳道：在24歲以前，他對(duì)于詩(shī)的興味遠(yuǎn)不如對(duì)于相對(duì)論或民約論的興味。正是康河的水，開啟了詩(shī)人的心靈，喚醒了久蟄在他心中的詩(shī)人的天命。因此他后來曾滿懷深情地說：“我的眼是康橋教我睜的，我的求知欲是康橋給我撥動(dòng)的，我的自我意識(shí)是康橋給我胚胎的�！�(《吸煙與文化》)

　　1928年詩(shī)人故地重游。11月6日在歸途的中國(guó)南海上，他吟成了這首傳世之作。這首詩(shī)最初刊登在1928年12月10日《新月》月刊第1卷10號(hào)上，后收入《猛虎集》�？梢哉f“康橋情節(jié)”貫穿在徐志摩一生的詩(shī)文中，而《再別康橋》無疑是其中最有名的一篇。

　　此詩(shī)作于徐志摩第三次歐游的歸國(guó)途中。時(shí)間是1928年11月6日，地點(diǎn)是中國(guó)上海。7月底的一個(gè)夏天，他在英國(guó)哲學(xué)家羅素家中逗留一夜之后，事先誰也沒有通知，一個(gè)人悄悄來到康橋找他的英國(guó)朋友。遺憾的是他的英國(guó)朋友一個(gè)也不在，只有他熟悉的康橋在默默等待他，一幕幕過去的生活圖景，又重新在他的眼前展現(xiàn)……由于他當(dāng)時(shí)時(shí)間比較緊急，又趕著要去會(huì)見另一個(gè)英國(guó)朋友，故未把這次感情活動(dòng)記錄下來。直到他乘船離開馬賽的歸國(guó)途中，面對(duì)洶涌的大海和遼闊的天空，才展紙執(zhí)筆，記下了這次重返康橋的切身感受。

　　不過當(dāng)時(shí)的徐志摩留下的是英文版的《再別康橋》，當(dāng)時(shí)是一位不知名的中國(guó)人翻譯過來的。
